🟢 OUR STORY: A PIECE OF NANCY LIVES IN EVERY UNIT

My beautiful mother; Nancy Allison Worth, raised my sister and me on her own through the 80s & 90s. Money was tight growing up, but she always found a way to make things feel so magical. Video rental stores on the weekend, walking the aisles browsing the amazing movie box art. I remember how she'd always ask the store manager if there were any posters they were giving away. Every so often, she'd score a sweet poster for me!

My bedroom walls were caked with all kinds of poster art. Swamp Thing. Batman. Superman. Masters of the Universe. Evil Dead. Fright Night. So many more. Every wall represented those movie nights, a video store trip, my mom asking one more time on our way out the door.

In 1990, she took me to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles at Metro North Mall. Before we even got to our seats, I stopped dead in the lobby — there was this big, glowing light box, backlit with those old fluorescent tubes, and the TMNT poster inside it looked ALIVE. Like it was glowing just for me. I remember thinking: I need this thing in my room! I was a kid. It was barely the 90's. There was no way I was going to get one, let alone anyone else. But it stuck with me. In my memory for years.

In 2013, I figured out how to create a sleek, slim, LED version of what I saw as a kid — a real LED version of that lobby magic, suitable for a bedroom wall, simple enough for anyone to switch out their poster in seconds. I showed my mom the very first prototype. She was amazed!

In 2015, we lost my mom unexpectedly, in a tragic motorcycle accident. Life hasn't been the same since. Glowbox represents her — essentially we wouldn't be a company if it weren't for my dear mother. Every poster she scored for me, every trip to the video store, every bit of magic she made out of not much at all. That's what's inside every Glowbox we send out. 

With each one, a piece of my mom goes with it.
